  • We follow a guided tour of the ancestral home and gardens of Anne Boleyn, Second wife of Henry VIII - sent to the Tower for execution.
  • The Castle was purchased by William Waldorf Astor, the American multi-millionaire. Hever Castle became the place to be seen at the turn of the 20th century.
  • It is a storybook castle with a moat and drawbridge! After the tour we head to the Henry VIII Pub (built in 1597) across from the castle's main gate.
  • After lunch, we head to our hotel just outside Dover. Weather and time permitting we may see a fabulous 12th-century church at Barfrestone, Kent - a real gem in rural England.
