Imjingak Park, originally established as a place of solace for refugees from North Korea during the Korean War, features several symbolic monuments such as the Freedom Bridge, the Soldiers’ Memorial, and the Peace Bell.
Adjacent to it, Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park offers visitors a chance to reflect on Korea’s history, the ongoing tensions, and hopes for peace.

The Third Tunnel

[Visit on Tuesday ~ Sunday] This tunnel, located 52 kilometers from Seoul in a straight line, was discovered in 1978. It was built for the purpose of invading the South Korea. Measuring 1,635 meters in length, 2 meters in height, and 2 meters in width, it has the capacity to move an entire division per hour.
Interestingly, when the tunnel was discovered, North Korea claimed that the South Korea had built it for a surprise attack. However, the evidence strongly suggests otherwise.

Dorasan Peace Park

[Visit on Tuesday ~ Sunday] Theater & Exhibition Hall: At the DMZ Theater, you can watch an 8-minute short film about the Korean conflict. This video presents South Korea’s perspective on the Korean War, the origins of the DMZ, and the current situation. It also provides background information on the infiltration tunnels dug by North Korea.
Right next to the theater is the DMZ Exhibition Hall, where you can gain a deeper understanding of Korea’s painful history. The exhibition features key artifacts, including photographs, documents, and historical relics. Walking through the displays offers a more profound and visual insight into the conflict.
