We’ll begin the day at the majestic Château Yaldara, one of the Barossa Valley’s most iconic and historic wineries. Established in 1947 by Hermann Thumm, a European winemaker who brought his old-world techniques to Australia, the château itself sits on the site of an original 19th-century flour mill, adding layers of charm and character to the estate.
Famous for its award-winning Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, Château Yaldara blends rich winemaking traditions with stunning architecture. The name "Yaldara" is derived from the Aboriginal word meaning “sparkling,” a nod to the nearby North Para River and the natural beauty of the area. Guests will experience the award winning wines and estate’s grand sandstone buildings, manicured gardens, and riverside views—making it one of the most photographed destinations in the Barossa. You’ll also have time to explore the grounds with a self-guided tour of the estate, perfect for soaking in its history and capturing memorable photos.
