Bayon Temple

The face-towers typically have four faces, each pointed towards the cardinal directions; although, some of the towers at Bayon have three faces. The faces themselves are uniform in style. The smiles are broad, and the eyes are open. The figure wears an intricate filet-style crown, and his elongated earlobes are adorned with inverted lotus jeweled earrings. Angkor Thom

Visit the grounds of the Wat Thmey killing fields, converted into the site of Temple. Kulen Nature Trails

10.00 Relaxing take nature shower and see art of Kulen Waterfall, the River of a 1000 Lingas, The river bed is covered with hundreds of lingas, while depictions of Hindu deities have been carved into the rock along and in the river. Most of the lingas and carvings were made in the 11th century during the reign of King Udayadityavarman II.

In several sections of the river hundreds of lingas and several yonis have been carved out of the sandstone river bed. The linga is the representation of Shiva, while the yoni is the female counterpart of the linga. The river water was sanctified by running over the lingas in the river bed. The water then flowed from the hills of Phnom Kulen to Angkor and the temples.

A number of carvings of Hindu deities have been made in rocks along the river, including several carvings of Vishnu reclining on Ananta-Shesha, the King of the Nagas and Lakshmi, his consort massaging his feet.

Visit the Reclining Buddha of Baphuon Temple
Krong Siem Reap, Cambodia
Though it was originally dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, Baphuon was converted to a Buddhist temple in the 15th century, complete with a massive hidden statue. THE BEAUTIFUL BAPHUON IS A striking part of the Angkor Thom complex in Cambodia. 

Built in the 11th century as the state temple for Udayadityavarman II, Baphuon was originally dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. But in the late 15th century, the three-tiered temple was converted to a Buddhist site. As a result of this conversion, hidden on the west-facing section of the third enclosure wall is a giant reclining Buddha. The brickwork forming the reclining Buddha image is nine meters (30 feet) tall and 70 meters (230 feet) long. The statue was built into the west side of the temple’s second level, which probably required the demolition of an eight-meter (26-foot) tower to supply stones for the statue.
