The Commagene Kingdom's Secrets
Mount Nemrut is famous for its giant mousalea and God statues, built for Commagene King Antiochus I, who ruled in Adıyaman. The statues and mousalea were created to show the king's appreciation for the Gods and his own ancestors. There are two sets of the same group of statues, one welcoming the rise of the sun and the other welcoming the sunset. Isn't it beautiful?
