Itt a kiindulópont
Basilica of San Clemente
Catacombe San Sebastiano
The original tombs of early Christians, a vast network of subterranean, underground galleries which crisscrossed and extended for miles over two or three stories.
Case Romane del Celio
A typical example of transformation from the private home of rich Christian people into churches, astonishing!
Santa Cecilia in Trastevere
An elegant church of a renowned district, Trastevere. In Roman time, it was the 14th region of Rome, Transtiberim, which included the Janiculum hill and the Vatican which was kept outside the wall boundary. Thanks to the loop in the river and the great availability of water, many crafts, such as leather curing, were practiced. The area was full of mills, baths, fields, and temples, and the ample spaces available allowed buildings development with numerous public housing constructions. Tradition indicates that it was in one of these homes that Cecilia lived on its foundation that the Basilica was built.
