Mai Chau is a small town nestled in a lush valley surrounded by emerald-green rice fields, located 130km west of Hanoi. For those who want to discover the natural beauty and exotic cultures of Vietnam's hill tribes with limited time, this 1-day tour takes you to the countryside, enjoying breathtaking scenery, immersing yourself in the wonders of Mai Chau valley. You'll have scenic photo stops along the way and visit the Muong tribes and then Thung Khe Pass for a spectacular view of Mai Chau Valley. You'll also have some free time to acquaint yourself with the villagers before starting to discover the gorgeous surroundings and ethnic minority tribes with a relaxing walk to Thai villages of Mai Chau valley. Afternoon, ride a bike through narrow village path, see terraced rice paddies and small villages, discovering the natural beauty of the valley and encountering the culture of the ethnic minority Thai people on our visits to the Pom Coong and Na Phon villages.

  • Mai Châu is a rural district of Hoa Binh province in the northwestern region of Vietnam. The district is located at about 160 km from Ha Noi. The scenery of Mai Chau attracts many tourists. The Mai Chau area is well known for its stilt houses. The type of stilt houses, or pile dwellings, they construct are called Thai stilt houses and are made of bamboo and timber. These houses are elevated 10–12 feet off the ground in order to avoid water damage and shelter animals from the elements.
