Leave Melbourne behind for a day surrounded by rugged mountains, Australian bushland and native wildlife in the Grampians National Park, known traditionally as Gariwerd.

Travel in a small group with an expert local guide who brings the journey to life through stories, local knowledge and insights into the landscapes, wildlife and history of western Victoria.

Begin the journey across Victoria’s Western Plains, stopping near historic Ballarat for morning tea before continuing toward the Grampians. As the mountain ranges rise ahead, enjoy a gentle walk through eucalyptus bushland to the peaceful Silverband Falls.

Continue into Halls Gap, a small township surrounded by towering sandstone peaks. Enjoy free time to purchase lunch and keep watch for the wild kangaroos and native birds commonly seen around town.

In the afternoon, experience some of the Grampians’ most impressive landscapes on foot. Walk among the dramatic rock walls of the Grand Canyon before travelling higher into the ranges for sweeping views from Reeds Lookout. From here, follow a bushland trail to The Balconies, one of the region’s most distinctive sandstone formations.

Enjoy some time at Boroka Lookout, where panoramic views stretch across Halls Gap, Lake Bellfield and the surrounding ranges and plains.

End your day looking for wild kangaroos, your friendly guide will help you take lots of pictures with these friendly locals!

Pickup times generally take place between 7:00am and 8:00am. Your exact pickup location and time will be confirmed by Go West Tours before your tour.

Please check your booking confirmation carefully, as your assigned pickup point may be a short walk from your accommodation. Arrive at your confirmed pickup location at least 5–10 minutes before departure.

The tour returns to Melbourne at approximately 8:30pm–9:30pm, with selected inner-city drop-offs available.
