11:15 a.m Maras Salt Mines, also known as Salineras de Maras, is a popular tourist attraction, these ancient salt mines have been in use since the Inca Empire and are still actively producing salt today.
Can also learn about the traditional methods used by local families to extract and harvest the salt. These families have been maintaining their own pools for generations, passing down their knowledge and techniques.

Here you have the chance to aither leave the group to take the train to Aguas Calientes and stay the nigth prior to Machu Picchu there (recommended), or to return to Cusco.
