Explore the "Cradle of Gold" - Choquequirao, on a 5-day trek through the mighty canyons above the Apurimac River. This is the lesser-known yet larger counterpart of Machu Picchu, so you'll traverse a less-traveled trail along high Inca paths and camp in breathtaking Andean landscapes. Along the way, witness diverse ecosystems teeming with native flora and fauna, including the majestic Andean Condor. This is a Small-Group experience (maximum 12 people). Included are muleteers, porters, and a chef for a comfortable journey.

This journey kicks off from your hotel in Cusco at around 4:30 am. You'll travel by private vehicle to the town of Cachora while admiring the distant Salkantay and Humantay glacier mountains. After breakfast in Cachora, you'll proceed to Capuliyoc to meet the team of cooks and muleteers, who'll carry your belongings.

Canon Del Apurimac
Stop: 3 hours
The trek starts with a 3-hour descent to Chuiquisca, a charming hamlet with fruit fields. Throughout the trail, you'll see the impressive Apurimac Valley and the grand views of Padreyoc and Qoriwayrachina glaciers. With luck, you may watch condors flying in the distance. In the afternoon, you'll arrive at the warm, green campsite of Chiquisca, tucked away in arid mountains, where you'll enjoy dinner and spend the night.
