4-Day Trek to Choquequirao: The Lost City of the Incas

Wat je gaat doen

The 4-day Choquequirao Trek is known as a "lost city." Choquequirao, which means "Cradle of Gold" in Quechua, is the largest city of the Incas after Cusco. It is the place where the Incas escaped in 1536 from the Spanish invasion. Located in the Valley of Vilcabamba, next to the rainforest, at an altitude of 3400 meters above sea level (11150 feet above sea level), the trek offers great tropical weather. This Inca city is considered as important as Machupicchu. The journey begins in the city of Cusco, and then the trekking through the Apurimac canyon, surrounded by impressive landscapes, we can also appreciate the flora and fauna of one of the deepest canyons in the world.
