During the colonial period, as many as 20 percent of New Yorkers were enslaved Africans who performed almost all the heavy labor of building the city's infrastructure. Your Private Guide will introduce you to these little known stories about the daily life of a slave and slave rebellion, and show you the roads, the docks, the churches, and other buildings built by slaves.
You will pass the African Burial Ground National Monument, where 15,000 Africans were buried between 1690s and 1794, the New York City Hall, St. Paul’s Chapel and Trinity Church, which was originally built by slaves. The guide will tell you about the slave-built wall from which Wall Street got its name and show you the building that housed the former slave market.
Hiermee wordt de tour afgesloten.
