Mount Batur is located in the Kintamani Subdistrict, Bangli District. From 1804 to 2000, Mount Batur erupted 30 times. The most devastating eruption occurred on August 2 to September 21, 1926, when the lava hoarded Batur Village and Ulun Danu Batur Temple. Mount Batur has an altitude of 1717 meters above sea level. Part of the mountain's body collapsed due to a massive eruption, forming a very large crater called the caldera.
