Join me on a walking tour of Chinatown, where we'll take a coffee break on our own.
This special location holds a significant place in the hearts of the Chinese community. Why did they make the arduous journey to this island, despite the dangers of the seas?
As we explore the streets of Chinatown, we'll uncover the stories of the coolies who faced many temptations and social evils. Many of the streets in Chinatown share the stories of their struggles.
We'll visit Pagoda Street, Mosque Street, and Temple Street, where Chinese, Indians, and Muslims coexist. How did they come to make this work?
Finally, we'll explore the street of Death in Chinatown, where we'll uncover the stories of the coolies who faced many temptations and social evils. How did all the coexist during those days? The Japanese had spies inside Chinatown, and how did the information leak?
