The Manu National Park is located in southeastern Peru, covering an area of 1.9 million hectares. Approximately 6,500 Quechua and 2,000 Amazonian people live within the reserve. The Manu National Park is characterized by three major biogeographically provinces: the Puna, the Yungas, and the Amazonian provinces. The park ranges from 200 to 4,020 meters above sea level. Combining topographic, soil, and climate conditions, the Manu National Park is characterized by a very high level of biodiversity, earning it the status of a Natural World Heritage Site. Some of the wildlife species found in the park are endangered.

We will leave Cusco in our mini-van, ascending to the folkloric town of Paucartambo. On the way, we will visit the pre-Incan funeral towers of Ninamarca. Then we will drive through the impressive cloud forest full of plants and beautiful orchids, here we will take our first hike and we would have the chance to see the country’s national bird- Andean cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola Peruvana), monkeys and many different species of birds. In the evening we will arrive at the Bambu Lodge, where you will be accommodated in a typical ensuite room.
