- Food forms a central part of any social occasion in Thailand. This is partly due to the friendly, social nature of Thai people, but also because of the way in which food is ordered and eaten in Thailand. In Thailand there is no such thing as a starter, neither is there any dish that belongs only to one person. All dishes are shared and enjoyed together.
