Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park located within the Resorts World Sentosa integrated resort at Sentosa in Singapore. The park features 28 rides, shows, and attractions across seven themed zones. As one of the five Universal Studios theme parks worldwide, Universal Studios Singapore offers a variety of Hollywood-themed entertainment, from roller coasters to shows. Movie-themed rides include Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure and TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle. The park was a key component of the Genting Singapore's bid for the right to build Singapore's second integrated resort (IR). On 8 December 2006, the Singapore government announced that the consortium had won the bid. Construction of the theme park and the rest of the resort started on 19 April 2007. .
