The Starbucks cafes are located on the top floor of the Aegibong Peace Park. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Janggang River and North Korea.
The Aegibong Starbucks is located within a restricted section of the DMZ that requires visitors to pass through a military checkpoint. Just 1.4 kilometers across the Imjin River lies North Korea's border county of Kaepung. From the peak, visitors can easily see North Korean civilian villages and Songaksan Mountain.
The AP described the Starbucks Aegibong as "a powerful symbol of security," while CNN noted that "you can even see North Koreans walking around," calling it "one of the few ways to look inside North Korea without crossing the border.

Jogang River
The Jogang River is located downstream of the Hangang River, where the Imjingang,
Hangang and Yeseonggang Rivers meet and flow into the West Sea. The name Jogang
means a “large river” or “grandfather river,” since it seems as vast as the ocean.
Before the Korean War, this area was a large village where around 100 households
were located. However, after the designation of the area as the “Neutral Waters
at Hangang River Estuary” in the 1953 ceasefire agreement, the villagers lost their
homes and were scattered in all directions. The Jogang River Basin, which people had
stopped visiting over the past few decades, became the repository of a diverse
ecosystem and the home to numerous endangered and protected species.Read moreMore about Gimpo
