View Admiralty Arch close up and listen to some hot gossip. While at the Arch you get to view a building described as "offence to London architecture". And learn why the Mall is red as we head towards Buckingham Palace. Stopping on the way for tales of fraud and intrigue and Westminster's Gasketeer's.
Westminster has so much to offer and so many monuments. Walking is route takes you to so many hidden gems. Along the red Mall we walk along side St James's Park to King George VI monument and Queen Elizabeth. Resident at Buckingham Palace during the war see the tribute to the Queen Mums work and listen to a couple of royal stories. The Mall towards Buckingham Palace has the best views of the oldest and original working Westminster gas lamps up close
Many a great story to be told at this royal residence. A Tudor marvel originating from the 13th Century. Site of royal proclamations and home to ancient royal baby swapping scandal.
St James's Palace is the most senior and most interesting in Westminster, London. Hear about its fascinating history former hospital and Tudor residence. Also what it is currently used for today. On specific days when it is taking place this is where it is best to see Changing of the Guard.
Iconic Buckingham Palace, Westminsters Jewel. We walk past Buckingham palace and its Golden Monument to Queen Victoria. Take selfies in front of the palace.
We check out the beautiful Dominion Gates. While I regale stories from Queen Victoria time and how Buckingham Palace came into being and speculation as to why King Charles III does not reside in the palace.
Also ask me why we have a King James Mulberry bush.
Time for photos and a climb up the golden Victoria Monument.
If a day when the guard is changing we will make our way to St James Palace for a view. Usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday and on Sunday at 11am but can be cancelled at short notice by the army. We always pass by St James Palace.
At the end of your walk I am happy to chat to give you advice on where to go next or where to pick your next meal, being a small business (with a small online presence, you can easily find me) I can direct you to where your need to be next. I often carry spare tourist guide maps with me so just ask me for one.
We make our way through Covent Garden Plaza, the Royal Opera House while I explain how the area came to be. I point out features and land marks you would normally wander past. This area has a rich and interesting history originating as part of Westminster Abbey.
Wander past Eros and down Piccadilly to the original red telephone boxes for wonderful photo opportunities. Past Fortnum and Mason and a pop inside if you are in need of presents to take home.
During the day I am happy to stop for a tea and restroom break if you need one. And the Royal Academy of Arts is a fine place for a rest before continuing your walk.
Stroll down the world's oldest Mall while I explain how it came into being. If we are lucky a Beadle will regale a story or 2.
Please remember this is your tour and I am very happy to accommodate which ever site you want to visit. The tour will be custom fit to your requirements, starting by a pick up from your hotel. As such tour times may vary from 2 and half hours to. 3 and half hours
