Pura Batu Bolong is located on a black coral rock, which is still in the same area as Tanah Lot. Batu Bolong Temple is located in Beraban Village, Kediri District, Tabanan Regency. Visitors can see the uniqueness of a dark coral with a hole in the middle, so it is called Batu Bolong. The term is derived from two words ‘batu’ (stone) and 'bolong’ which means hollow. Initially, the beach that became the location of Pura Batu Bolong was called Saruga Beach. Because there is a Batu Bolong Temple, it is called Batu Bolong Beach.

The Tanah Lot Temple, located on a large rock in the middle of the sea, is one of the most photographed and emblematic temples in Bali.
Tanah Lot Temple is built on a rock about 300 metres from the coast, and is one of Bali's pura segara seven sea temples, each of which is said to be visible from the next, forming a protective spiritual chain around the island.
