  • We leave Cusco early in the morning (5:00-6:00 am is the usual pick-up time at the hotel) and drive through the Andes Mountains and rural communities. Visit the pre-Incan tombs of the Lupaca culture and stop in Paucartambo, a beautiful colonial town. Visit the city museum and have lunch in the cloud forest.
  • Continue your descent through the cloud forest, an area rich in endemic species such as the spectacled bear and the cock-of-the-rock, Peru's national bird. See orchids, bromeliads, and ferns.
  • Observe the spectacular nature along the way until you reach Pilcopata Lodge for dinner and overnight.
