The African penguins in Betty’s Bay at Stony Point Nature Reserve offer a unique and charming wildlife experience along South Africa’s Whale Coast. This colony, one of the largest and most accessible on the continent, provides visitors with an up-close look at these endangered birds in their natural habitat. Walking along the boardwalks, you can observe the penguins waddle, dive, and interact on the rocky shoreline. Known for their distinctive black and white markings and endearing bray-like calls, the African penguins are a delight to watch, and the scenic coastal surroundings only add to the beauty of the experience. From Betty's Bay we proceed to Hermanus for a tour of this beautiful coastal gem. A tour of Hermanus offers an enchanting experience along South Africa’s scenic Whale Coast. Known as one of the best whale-watching destinations in the world, Hermanus provides ideal viewpoints from which to spot southern right whales breaching and playing in the bay, especially from June to November. The town’s cliff paths offer breathtaking coastal views, winding along fynbos-covered cliffs and providing ample opportunities for whale sightings, photography, and relaxation.
