The Grand Palace
Located at the heart of Bangkok, the Grand Palace was the former residence for King Rama I to King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Kingdom. Today, the place is used for hosting royal ceremonies and welcoming the king's guests, state guests, and other foreign dignitaries.
Remember that temples are sacred places and you must dress appropriately. Shoulders and ankles need to be covered. No shorts, slippers, sandals, or revealing tops, otherwise you simply won't be allowed in.

Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew)

Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew)
Wat Phra Kaew (known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or locally as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram) is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Thailand. Located within the grounds of the Grand Palace, the temple enshrines Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha), the highly revered Buddha image meticulously carved from a single block of jade.

Wat Phra Chetuphon

Wat Phra Chetuphon
Wat Pho is the oldest and largest temple complex in Bangkok, it houses more than 1,000 Buddha images which is more than any other temple in Thailand. Most of the images were brought over from abandoned temples in places as Ayutthaya and Sukhothai by order of King Rama I.
Wat Pho is famous for its enormous gold plated Reclining Buddha image. The image was build during the reign of King Rama III in 1832 and is 46 meters long and 15 meters high.

Wat Arun
Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) is one of Bangkok’s most famous temples at the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. It is famous for both Thais and foreigners due to the beauty and signature charm of its decoration.
The main and the tallest building of Wat Arun is Phra Prang Wat Arun. It overlooks the Chao Phraya river and it is one of the famous landmarks in the world and one of the most photographed icons of Thailand.

Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple)

Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple)
Wat Benchamabophit or the Marble temple is popular for the principal chapel which is decorated with Carrara marble imported from Italy. Inside the building, you will find Phra Buddha Chinnarat Buddha image hosted at the centre of the hall, surrounded by the painting of eight magnificent pagodas in Thailand together with stained glass windows from Florence.
