Breakfast stop in Ollantaytambo.
Briefing at the trailhead (2,750 m), then begin the hike, visiting the archaeological sites of Wilkarakay and Llactapata. Continue through the Cusichaka River Canyon with views of Veronica Mountain (5,850 m).
Lunch in Wayllabamba.
Continue along the trail, crossing the Cusichaka River and visiting Incan terraces. Pass through the village of Huayllabamba and ascend through Yuncachimpa and Corralpunku, with views of snow-capped peaks.
Arrive at Lluchapampa campsite (3,850 m). Expect temperatures around 7-8°C at night.
