Tirta Empul Temple was built in the 9th century during the Warmadewa kingdom. In this temple, you can see the Holy spring water flowing from the ground and into the inner pool. On the second layer of the temple, you can see people lining up to put their heads under the shower along the wall of the pool.
The waters are believed to have magical curative properties, and people journey from all over Bali to purify themselves in the clear bathing pools. A light lunch is available on site after the food offering has been blessed by the Pemangku (Local Priest).
Please bring extra clothes, a sarong, and a towel.
