The temple is also known as the birthplace of Thai massage, with a long tradition of Thai therapeutic massage and healing practices taught at the temple. In addition to its religious and cultural significance, Wat Pho is a place of active worship, home to various stupas (chedis), religious shrines, and murals that depict the life and teachings of the Buddha.
