Join us on a full-day excursion to the imperial attraction of Waqrapukara. This horn-shaped militar watchtower was built during the Inca period and is located at an altitude of 4,300 meters above sea level.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 am and drive for approximately 3 hours to the southeast of Cusco. We will arrive at a small village known as Chuquicahuana, where we will have some local breakfast.
After breakfast, we will ride towards a small village known as Rinconada, and from this place, we will start our adventure on foot. We will walk uphill for approximately 2.5 hours to reach the Waqrapukara archaeological site, where you will have a mind-blowing experience.

This is a private tour/activity. Only your group will participate
- For the start of the Waqrapukara tour, we will pick up at the hotel at 04:00 a.m. and head south during this trip to appreciate the Pomacanchi lagoon.
- Continuing with the tour we will arrive at Sangarara where we will have a breakfast, and then continue to the Rinconada community where the walk to Waqrapukara will begin.
- On this hike we can see a lot of flora, typical fauna of the area until to arrive to the archaeological site of Waqrapukara where we will visit the following places: Intipunku (door of the sun), main square, towers, terraces, Wiracocha enclosure and cave paintings.
- After the visit to Waqrapukara we will begin with the return to Sangarara where we will have a lunch and the mobility for our return to Cusco.
