Perched on an escarpment amidst hills cloaked in mist, the Twin Lakes viewpoint provides a phenomenal sunrise panorama over the two shimmering crater lakes wedged between jungle terrain.
As the fog lifts and golden light spills over the sky at dawn, the vista unveils pristine mirror images reflecting the surrounding volcanic cliffs and forest. Visitors sit enchanted as they watch the sunrise cast its glow over the placid waters and banks dotted with outrigger fishing boats. Hidden within lush green jungle along the Aling-Aling River, the spectacular 40-meter high Aling-Aling waterfall presents a breathtaking surprise for visitors venturing inland from North Bali's coastal towns. To reach this remote waterfall, adventurers must trek down a winding staircase of over 500 steps, descending deep into the valley overlooked by towering cliffs covered in tropical vines.
The challenging hike is rewarded with the magnificent sight of the two-tiered waterfall, its powerful cascade crashing into an idyllic natural pool perfect for swimming. The first tier drops 35 meters into an enchanting blue lagoon, while the second tier tips over a rocky outcropping from even higher. Local guides lead visitors down steep paths and behind falling curtains of water for once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities.
