We put into context the myths and beliefs of the ancient Romans, the tales of a many layered history before entering the best-preserved Roman temple in the world. Piazza Della Rotonda
In front of the Pantheon, the glorious piazza displays a voluptuous fountain by Jacopo Della Porta with an ancient Obelisk raised above it, capped by a crucifix. Fountains in the late Renaissance were celebratory expressions of the return of water after near 1000 years...
Piazza della Minerva
The Palazzo Spadolini was once a tribunal against heretics, were women were put on trial for witchcraft and scientist such as Galileo were tortured by the Dominicans. Also on the Piazza is the only Church with a Pagan name: Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, a church built upon the Temple to the goddess Isis.
