Day 1

Driving from Cape Town to Oudtshoorn along the R62 Wine Route is a scenic journey through South Africa's heartland, offering a blend of natural beauty and cultural charm. As you travel this iconic route, you'll pass through picturesque towns like Montagu and Calitzdorp, surrounded by rolling vineyards and majestic mountain ranges. The route is famous for its excellent wineries, where you can stop to taste local wines and enjoy warm hospitality. The drive culminates in Oudtshoorn, known as the "Ostrich Capital of the World," set against the backdrop of the stunning Swartberg Mountains, making the journey as delightful as the destination.

From Oudtshoorn we proceed to Cango Caves for a guided tour of these majestic caves.

A guided tour of the Cango Caves is a captivating journey into one of South Africa's most impressive natural wonders. Located near Oudtshoorn, these ancient limestone caves feature an incredible array of stalactites, stalagmites, and intricate rock formations. Day 2

A game drive in Botlierskop Game Reserve offers a thrilling wildlife adventure set against the stunning backdrop of South Africa's Garden Route. As you traverse the diverse landscapes of the reserve—ranging from grassy plains to dense forests—you'll encounter a rich array of animals, including lions, rhinos, giraffes, and buffalo. The reserve is also home to unique species like the Cape mountain zebra and eland. From Botlierskop Game Reserve we head to Knysna. We visit Knysna Lagoon where you can go on a sunset boat cruise (own cost activity).

Day 3

After breakfast we go on a tour of Knysna Heads. A tour of the Knysna Heads offers a captivating exploration of one of the Garden Route’s most iconic landmarks. These towering sandstone cliffs flank the narrow channel where the Knysna Lagoon meets the Indian Ocean, creating a dramatic and picturesque setting. Whether you view the Heads from a boat, hike to the viewpoints, or explore the nearby beaches, you'll be treated to breathtaking panoramas of the rugged coastline, lush forests, and the sparkling lagoon. From Knysna Heads we proceed to Robberg Nature Reserve for hiking. Hiking in Robberg Nature Reserve is a captivating adventure that showcases the stunning natural beauty of South Africa's coastline. We then do a brief tour of this beautiful coastal town and also visit beaches to relax in Plettenberg Bay.

We then proceed to Bloukrans Bridge where you can do some bungy jumping, the highest in the world. This is an own cost activity. Bungee jumping from Bloukrans Bridge is an exhilarating experience that promises an adrenaline rush like no other. As the highest commercial bungee jump in the world, the 216-meter leap offers an unmatched thrill, with breathtaking views of the Bloukrans River and lush forested valley below. Day 4

We do a brief tour of Cape Agulhas. A tour of Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, is a fascinating journey to a place where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Visitors can stand at the iconic Agulhas Lighthouse, explore the rugged coastline, and take in panoramic views from the cliff tops. The area is rich in maritime history, with the Cape Agulhas Maritime Museum offering insights into the region’s significance for sailors. We then proceed to Hermanus. A visit to Hermanus is a delightful experience, especially known for its world-class whale watching opportunities. Nestled along the scenic Walker Bay coastline, this charming town offers breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. From June to December, Hermanus becomes a prime spot for spotting southern right whales as they migrate to the area to breed and calve. The town also boasts beautiful beaches, vibrant markets, and excellent restaurants. Day 5

We continue with our tour of Hermanus in the morning with possibilities to watch whales (in season).

We then proceed to Benguela Cove Wine Estate where we get to taste 5 different wines.

Wine tasting at Benguela Cove Wine Estate is a refined and delightful experience set against a stunning backdrop of the Bot River Lagoon and the Kogelberg Mountains. The estate's tasting room offers an elegant setting where visitors can sample a diverse range of expertly crafted wines, from crisp whites to robust reds. The knowledgeable staff guide you through the estate’s award-winning selections, pairing each wine with local gourmet delights. The picturesque views and serene ambiance enhance the tasting experience, making it a perfect way to savor exceptional wines while enjoying the natural beauty of the estate.

We then make our final stop at Betty's Bay where we see African Penguins. Betty's Bay is a charming coastal village renowned for its unique African penguin colony. Located along South Africa's picturesque False Bay coastline, the Betty's Bay Penguin Colony is a must-visit destination where you can observe these charismatic birds in their natural habitat. The colony, nestled among the rocks and coastal vegetation, provides an up-close view of the penguins' endearing behaviors, from their distinctive waddling to playful interactions.

We finally make our journey back to cape town arriving at 6pm to conclude the tour. Driving the Whale Coast from Betty's Bay to Cape Town is a scenic and enchanting journey along South Africa's southern coastline. This route takes you through charming coastal towns, rugged cliffs, and serene beaches, offering stunning ocean views and opportunities to spot marine wildlife.
