The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, popularly but incorrectly known as "Eros", is a fountain surmounted by a winged statue of Anteros, located at the southeastern side of Piccadilly Circus in London, England. Moved after the Second World War from its original position in the centre of the circus, it was erected in 1892–93 to commemorate the philanthropic works of The 7th Earl of Shaftesbury, the Victorian politician and philanthropist, and his achievement in replacing child labour with school education. The fountain overlooks the south-west end of Shaftesbury Avenue, also named for the Earl.

This loveable statue was unveiled by British actor Hugh Bonneville, who plays Henry Brown in both hit films, Paddington (2014) and Paddington 2 (2017). He was joined by D-Lime, the calypso band that featured in both films. Paddington is situated on a bench in Leicester Square gardens, where visitors can enjoy their lunch next to the marmalade loving star of two BAFTA-nominated films. Hugh Bonneville said, “The global response to Paddington has been truly fantastic. On behalf of the Brown family and the Bear from Darkest Peru, thank you for letting him share his marmalade sandwiches in this iconic location”
