What you'll do

Discover one of Australia’s most spectacular coastal journeys without the early-morning start on this Great Ocean Road Sunset Tour from Melbourne.

Travel in a relaxed small group with an expert local guide who brings the journey to life through engaging stories, local knowledge and insights into the history, wildlife and landscapes of Victoria’s coast.

Leave Melbourne later in the morning and make your way toward the Surf Coast, where the scenery gradually changes from city landscapes to beaches, cliffs and eucalyptus forest. Stop at the historic Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch before continuing along one of the world’s most scenic coastal roads.

Keep an eye out for wild koalas and native birdlife among the eucalyptus trees, with time during the journey to stop for lunch and enjoy the relaxed coastal surroundings.

Later in the day, reach the spectacular Shipwreck Coast and explore the viewpoints around Loch Ard Gorge. Hear the remarkable story of the Loch Ard shipwreck and discover how the powerful Southern Ocean has shaped this dramatic coastline.

The experience finishes with the moment you have been waiting for — the Twelve Apostles at sunset. Watch the colours of the sky change above the famous limestone stacks as evening light falls across the Southern Ocean.

After sunset, relax on the journey back to Melbourne, with a short stop along the way to purchase dinner.

With a maximum of 24 guests, comfortable transport and one of Go West Tours’ passionate local guides, this is a memorable way to experience the Great Ocean Road at one of the most beautiful times of day.
