What you'll do

Leave Melbourne behind for a day that combines heritage, forest scenery, charming country towns and the flavours of the Yarra Valley.

Travel in a small group with an expert local guide as you make your way into the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. Your first major experience is one of Victoria's most loved attractions — the historic Puffing Billy Railway.

Board the famous steam train at Belgrave and journey to Menzies Creek through lush forest, fern-filled gullies and rolling countryside. Feel the fresh mountain air from Puffing Billy's open-sided carriages as the train winds through the ranges. When open, you'll also have time to explore the Menzies Creek Museum and discover more about the railway's fascinating history.

From here, travel deeper into regional Victoria to the riverside town of Warburton. Enjoy free time to explore the town and purchase lunch from one of its local cafés or bakeries.

After lunch, step into a completely different landscape at the Cement Creek Redwood Forest. Wander beneath towering Californian Redwoods, follow peaceful forest trails and enjoy plenty of opportunities to stop, look up and photograph this remarkable setting.

Finish the day in the Yarra Valley, surrounded by rolling vineyard scenery. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine, or choose a sweet treat instead if you prefer not to drink alcohol.

Pickup is available from selected hotels and designated locations across Melbourne city.

Pickup times generally take place between 7:00am and 8:00am. Your exact pickup location and time will be confirmed by Go West Tours before your tour.

Please check your booking confirmation carefully, as your assigned pickup point may be a short walk from your accommodation. Arrive at your confirmed pickup location at least 5–10 minutes before departure.

The tour returns to Melbourne at approximately 8:30pm–9:30pm, with selected inner-city drop-offs available.
