Learn to surf at Piha, Auckland's most famous surf beach, with a small-group lesson run by local instructors. Boards, wetsuits and expert coaching are all included.
Our 1.5-hour group surf lesson is the perfect way to catch your first waves at Piha. We start on the beach with a safety briefing covering rips, currents and surf etiquette, then practise paddling and popping up before heading into the white water. Your instructor stays with you in the water, giving feedback and helping you ride waves at your own pace. Lessons run in small groups with a maximum of 6 students per instructor, and all equipment is provided.
All participants must be able to swim. Each adult signs a waiver before the lesson and a parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18. If the surf is unsafe, we'll offer another time or a refund; rain alone doesn't cancel a lesson.
