What you'll do

Our 1.5-hour private group lesson lets you learn to surf together without sharing your instructor with strangers. We start with a beach safety briefing on rips, currents and surf etiquette, practise paddling and popping up on the sand, then head into the white water, where your instructor coaches everyone at their own pace. All equipment is provided.

Meeting and pickup

Start: South Piha Beach carpark, 23 Marine Parade South, Piha 0772

Look for the blue Piha Surf Academy surf trailer in the South Piha carpark. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.

End: This activity ends back at the meeting point.
