What you'll do
When you gaze upon the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain in Cusco, you'll be treated to a kaleidoscope of colors spread across the high peaks. As you take in the natural wonder, you'll be contemplating millions of years of geological history. The surreal Red Valley, surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains and beautiful slopes, offers a tranquil atmosphere. You may be accompanied only by alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas. Occasionally, you'll have the opportunity to observe the daily life of the Andean communities that inhabit this sector. - Today we will pick you up from your hotel at 4:30 am and travel 3 hours to the start of the trek, then we will have breakfast and begin the adventure on a flat trail to the lunch camp, and a 2-hour climb to the Aarapa pass (4,800 m / 15,748 ft).
- Then we continue 2 more hours of hiking on a flat trail to our camp called Yana Cocha (4,570 m / 14,993 ft) a place surrounded by snow-capped mountains and colorful lakes.
- In total 5 to 6 hours of walking a distance of approximately 15 km / 9.32 mi.
