The Humantay Lake trek is an adventurous experience as you immerse yourself in the Peruvian Andes, surrounded by mountains and Apus. You begin your journey from Soraypampa, taking in the beautiful views along the way. If the sky is clear enough, you may even catch a glimpse of the impressive Apus Salkantay Humantay, the spirits of the mountains.

At 4:00 a.m., we will start our adventure to Humantay Lake with a transport that will take approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes to the town of Mollepata, where we will have breakfast before continuing for 1 more hour to Soraypampa (3850 meters above sea level).

  • The hike to the lake will take about 1.5 hours with a low to moderate difficulty level, and it will be well worth it when you see the magical view. Alternatively, you can rent a horse instead of hiking. We will have enough time at the lake to take photos.
  • After some free Time, we will descend back to Soraypampa, which will take approximately 1.5 hours and is much easier than the ascent. We will then return to Mollepata for lunch, rest, and finally, we will return to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 p.m.
