Tour Highlight

Explore Kanchanaburi's harrowing past on a 2-day guided tour to Hellfire Pass and the Death Railway.   • This tour is operated both on private basis as well as on joint / SeatIn-Coach basis. Joint tours are operated with an English-speaking guide only.
  • Guests are requested not to bring more than one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per person on transfers due to available luggage space on private cars.
  • Transfers are only operated within the downtown Bangkok areas and restricted to main hotels only. Regions outside the central business district such as Khao San Road, Rattanakosin, Nonthaburi, Thonburi, Minburi, both International Airports, Ratchadapisek and upper Sukhumvit (Soi 55 and further) are excluded and supplementary charges apply.
  • Should you have booked a joint / SeatIn-Coach excursion, we are unable to communicate with you with accurate participation numbers, as these may change until the very last moment.
  • We will do all possible to comply with any dietary requirements during this excursion; it may not always be possible to confirm your wishes in advance based on the choice of local restaurants.
  • The accommodation used during this tour is simple accommodation with basic amenities. This may include no airconditioning (fan only), lack of Wi-Fi and/or warm water. Due to the location of our overnight address and aligned with the concept of this soft-adventure experience.

It the customer’s own responsibility to ensure that any camera, mobile telephone or other device is properly wrapped and protected against these elements. The guide cannot be held responsible in any way for negligence and/or not following suggestions for any damage related to this.
  • Checkin and check-out times are regulated by each individual hotel and in general (exceptions are available for which we cannot be held accountable), check-in time at hotels are not before 14:00 hrs as check-out times are before 12:00 hrs. Additional supplements may apply when customers require early check-in / late check-out.
  • This tour includes driving over uneven paths, surfaces and offroad bumpy roads, unsuitable for pregnant women, people with neck and back problems and those with limited mobility.
  • We will always make the effort to confirm the exact pickup time upon reservation. For any operational issues in which are not able to confirm the exact pick-up time in advance, we reserve the right to inform you the day before the departure of the tour.
  • Please note pickup and drop-off services may not be confirmed for customers staying at private residences, apartment complexes, or other non-registered tourism accommodations. Customers may be asked to meet at a nearby hotel for pick-up and drop off.

  • Please ensure that you bring sunglasses, a hat /cap and sunblock with a high SPF factor when traveling with us on this tour – even when it is cloudy, the sun’s rays are still very powerful.
  • The protection of the country’s flora and fauna is of immense importance for us. We will not pursue any activities for guests that are not in line with our animal, wildlife and environment protection principles.
  • It is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with the correct hotel information, should pickup and drop-off services be included in the package. Any changes in accommodation outside 24 hours will be handled accordingly: changes within 24 hours may be on request.
  • In the event of noshow or change of accommodation without prior consent and confirmation from us within 24 hours may result in the applicable cancellation charges as outlined in the terms and conditions.

The Thailand-Burma Railway Centre
Depart from Bangkok in the early morning and take a scenic drive to Kanchanaburi. For an insight into this historic area, start with a visit to the Thailand–Burma Railway Centre. This interactive museum gives a glimpse into the harsh conditions that the prisoners of war (POWs) endured during the construction of the Death Railway. Many of the thousands who perished while constructing the tracks are buried at the nearby War Cemetery. Wander around the well-maintained graves and absorb the silence and solemnity of this serene setting.

River Khwae Bridge
Stop: 30 minutes
River Khwae Bridge
End the morning snapping photos at the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Then board a long-tail boat and drift along the river to the Jungle Rafts – your home for the night.

Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre
Stop: 90 minutes
After lunch in the hotel’s floating restaurant, board the boat for the cruise to the Hellfire Memorial Pass where POWs hacked through sheer rock with basic hand tools and explosives to create a cutting through the mountain that would connect the railway line with Burma. After hearing all about the history of this infamous place, cruise back to the Jungle Rafts to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of river life. In the evening, after a Thai dinner, sit back and enjoy a performance of Mon arts, dance, music and culture.
