Wat Phra Kaew
Inside the Grand Palace grounds is Wat Phra Kaew, home to the revered Emerald Buddha, carved from a single piece of jade. This sacred statue is considered the most important image of Buddha in Thailand, and the temple’s elaborate decorations and murals tell the story of Buddhist cosmology and Thai spirituality.
Wat Phra Chetuphon
Famous for its giant Reclining Buddha statue, Wat Pho is one of Bangkok’s oldest temples. The 46-meter-long Buddha, covered in gold leaf, represents the Buddha’s entry into Nirvana. Wat Pho is also considered the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, where you can experience an authentic massage in its peaceful surroundings.
Wat Arun
Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun is known for its stunning riverside setting and towering prangs (spires) decorated with colorful porcelain.
