Following in the footsteps of James Baldwin, I find myself standing by the Bosporus.

What you'll do

This tour is about celebrating the love and contributions of Baldwin, one of the most iconic figures of anti-racist struggle in the USA. Baldwin lived in Istanbul for 10 years in the 1960s and wrote many books and plays in Turkey, where he drew inspiration from the struggles against homophobia and racism in America at the time. We will follow the colorful locations he visited, inspired by and taste the old charismatic, oriental Istanbul like he did.
