What you'll do

Loch Ness, Glen Coe and the Highlands from Glasgow

Leave Glasgow behind as your driver-guide shares stories of Scotland’s industrial heritage and vibrant culture.

Loch Lomond and The Trossachs

Our first stop is Loch Lomond, Scotland’s largest freshwater loch and the inspiration for the famous folk song. Stroll along the Bonnie Banks or enjoy a coffee before we continue north.

Glen Coe and Rannoch Moor

Enter Glen Coe, a place of towering peaks, cascading waterfalls and dark history, and hear the story of the Glencoe Massacre of 1692. We also cross Rannoch Moor, the vast wilderness seen in Skyfall.

Loch Ness and Fort Augustus

In Fort Augustus, at the southern tip of Loch Ness, stop for lunch and take an optional cruise, keeping an eye out for Nessie as you pass Cherry Island and Fort Augustus Abbey. Prefer to stay on land? Walk along the Caledonian Canal or explore the village.

The Cairngorms

Return through the Cairngorms National Park, home to five of the UK’s six highest mountains and a quarter of Scotland’s ancient forests.

Highland Perthshire and Return to Glasgow

Make a final stop in Highland Perthshire, at the geographical centre of Scotland, to buy local produce and meet some friendly Highland coos. Pass Stirling, with views of Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, before arriving back in Glasgow.

Host since 2006
Highland Experience Tours began with a simple belief: the best way to know Scotland is to step off the main road and into the landscapes that shaped it. Founded by people who grew up among the glens, lochs, and mountain passes, the company set out to share the Highlands as locals know them, beyond the usual postcard viewpoints. Every journey is built around genuine exploration, with time to wander ancient battlefields and castles and listen to tales of clans and castles. What sets Highland Experience Tours apart is our guides behind the wheel and the stories they tell. Whether you're tracing the road to Glencoe, travelling the western isles, or exploring ancient castles, we aim to leave you with more than photographs. We want you to leave with a real connection to the Highlands and the feeling that you've discovered something special.
