What you'll do

Glencoe, Glenfinnan and the Highlands from Glasgow

Board your comfortable 16-seat minibus in Glasgow for a full day of Highland adventure, with your driver-guide sharing local insights and stories of Scotland’s history and culture.

Loch Lomond and The Trossachs

Our first stop is the eastern side of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Stretch your legs and take photos of Scotland’s largest freshwater loch.

Glen Coe and Rannoch Moor

Cross Rannoch Moor, Britain’s largest moorland, and enter Glen Coe, where towering peaks and waterfalls set the scene for the story of the Glencoe Massacre. Harry Potter fans will recognise the landscape from the Hogwarts battle scenes.

Fort William

Stop for lunch in Fort William, the gateway to the Great Glen. Wander along Loch Linnhe, explore the local cafés and take in views of the Nevis Range.

Glenfinnan Viaduct and Loch Shiel

Walk to the panoramic viewpoint for the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct and, when it is running, watch the Jacobite Steam Train, the real-life Hogwarts Express, cross overhead*. Continue to the shores of Loch Shiel and the Glenfinnan Monument, where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in 1745.

Luss and the Return to Glasgow

Return along the western shore of Loch Lomond and stop at Luss, a historic conservation village, for a leisurely walk by the water. We arrive back in Glasgow in the evening after a day of history, film magic and breathtaking scenery.

Host since 2006
Highland Experience Tours began with a simple belief: the best way to know Scotland is to step off the main road and into the landscapes that shaped it. Founded by people who grew up among the glens, lochs, and mountain passes, the company set out to share the Highlands as locals know them, beyond the usual postcard viewpoints. Every journey is built around genuine exploration, with time to wander ancient battlefields and castles and listen to tales of clans and castles. What sets Highland Experience Tours apart is our guides behind the wheel and the stories they tell. Whether you're tracing the road to Glencoe, travelling the western isles, or exploring ancient castles, we aim to leave you with more than photographs. We want you to leave with a real connection to the Highlands and the feeling that you've discovered something special.
